Justin,
Thanks for the info. I am planning on installing a speedo from an 89+ or looking into a workaround using a speedometer sender unit suggested by MikeD once I get it up and running. Then hopefully messing around with a combiadapter and T5Suite.
All of the parts I used were new - plugs, injectors, IAC, TPS, DIC, Map sensor, etc. - the whole works. I tapped in through the back of the harness at Pin 2, connected the light, and connected the other end to power. I saw nothing while I was cranking, but when I turned the key to the OFF position, the light came on for about 3 seconds, then went out. Strange.
One thing I noticed is that the flywheel sensor seems a little far away (about 1/4" to 3/8") from the back of the flywheel, but there is no way to move it closer without modifying the block that it mounts in. If the computer cant pick up the crank position, that would be a problem.
