Drive shafts and tripod bearing concerns - auto to manual swap

I am prepairing for swapping the automatic transmission for a manual one on my '91 900i. But I do have some concerns regarding the lenght of the drive shafts and the size of the tripod bearings as the transmission I am getting is from an '87 model (pre brake upgrade most likely).
My understanding is that the upgraded breaks require longer drive shafts, and that the length of the drive shafts is the same regardless of whether the car has an auotmatic or a manual transmission. If this is correct I already have the correct lenght of drive shafts. But apparently the tripod bearings were changed at the same time and from what I gather these are NOT interchangeable betweeen the different length drive shafts. This is where I am concerened I will run into some issues. Can the inner cups from an automatic transmission replace the once on a manual transmission or will I need to source inner cups from a post brake upgrade manual transmission? Is there some other solution to this problem that I am not seeing?
