And then, a eureka moment hits while I was hitting the hay last night.........
Years ago, I got a tally red vert that had been hot rodded by a NYC peace officer, it had a straight pipe, lots of "things" were purchased to make the intake and exhaust less restricted. Every time I punched the throttle, there was a fuel cut, remedied by using a Split Second voltage clamp on the AMM to prevent the fuel pump from cutting flow. Actually the ECU from telling the pump to stop flowing.
That was a 1991 LH2.4, this is a 1992 LH2.4.2, so a guess is that with the 14T turbo wheel, the LH2.4.2, all the other "stuff" we did to the head, and exhaust, the AMM voltage exceeds the 5 volt trigger to the ECU to tell the fuel pump to stop.
OK, so leaving this one to the experts and might rig up a voltage gauge to monitor the AMM voltage while driving to see if it blows through 5 volts when the turbo kicks in.
In reading all the NA to turbo conversion DIY notes, I never found that LH2.4.2 was used for this, it might be as simple as that.
So, how about it Simon S or Hans ( Gorper ) or another electrocutioner???
