The wiper drive mechanism (AKA "transmission") comes out very easily when you don't have AC in the car.
I've done the clutch line once, as part of an auto-to-manual swap 15 years ago. Flare wrenches are really helpful.
Those three bolts holding the alternator mounting bracket to the block should NEVER be overtightened.
I've also found a flexible socket extension (made of woven Kevlar) is very, very valuable when working on cars where the engines are in backwards. Ball-ended hex wrenches are nice, too.
