I have a broken drivers side upper control arm on the 1989. I'm aware that this is a bear to replace, so that car is for now sidelined (was our winter beater). However, I am a little concerned that this will someday happen in our nicer 900 and I would like to be prepared. I see there are sources for lower arms, but I don't see a good resource for upper arms short of our junkyard (probably most are in poor shape also, and a lot of work to remove unless someone has already pulled the engine and/or lots of other stuff).
Anyone know of a good source for upper arms, or is it better to just find an older set and weld in reinforcements, or reinforce what I have in situ in advance of failure... pretty hard to do much once it breaks near the weld!
This is not urgent, I just thought I'd check to see what the brain trust here thinks... way too much salt on the roads here!!!
