On mine, and I think on Roger's, the valve stem of the Shraeder valve actually failed - I had an active gas leak dripping onto the head while the fuel system was pressurized. I don't know how long it had been happening, I only noticed it one day while the hood was up and the car idling. I removed the valve stem and found the O-rings had completely deteriorated.
I happened to have some R134a conversion fittings in the garage, so I removed one of those valve stems - with Viton O-rings - and installed it into the Actron fitting. That cured the leak, but it still left me uncomfortable with the whole thing. A 1/8" NPT thread allows me to install many mechanical or electrical gauges - it's not as convenient as the Shraeder, but it'll be fine for me... I'll probably just buy an electrical fuel pressure gauge for permanent install.
