In my Falcon, I didn't want to disrupt the dash or factory radio, so I bought a Kenwood KAC-M1824BT and installed it under the seat. It's a 4-channel 45w amp with a tiny remote and Bluetooth. All the sound comes from my cell phone, there is no "stereo" in the car. It works really well and keeps the interior very clean.
If one wanted, one could use this amp in combination with a factory Clarion stereo for AM/FM since it has stereo RCA input. I am pretty sure you could use the DIN plug in the back of the factory stereo - with an adapter - to connect to the line level inputs. IIRC that pinout is published somewhere. PIE used to sell an adapter, but I haven't seen one in a long time.
There are lots of other similar Bluetooth-enabled amps for less money... I went with the Kenwood because I had a gift certificate to Crutchfield. :)
