As far as "old" gas goes, I have 2 C900 Turbos (1986 & 1990) which I store all winter (Nov. thru April) every year. I don't pay any attention to the age of the gas. Never had a problem in the last 16 years. How "old" is your gas in the 8-valve 1986? Have you ran a 20 ounce bottle of Techron through it lately? Might help? Good luck. Vern
