hi roger,
yes- I pulled an older distributor today, and am going to bypass the cps.
today I got it running from a cold start and moved it into my garage, where it ran 25 minutes before it died; was at normal running temp before dying. then- no start again when hot.
other findings: the car won't run in limp mode with the amm unplugged, also, when I unplugged the aic the idle got a bit rougher, but when I plugged it back in the idle did not smooth out as I thought it would have. looked for vacuum leaks again but did not find any.
it seems like if the amm was bad it would display symptoms at ant temp- not just a hot motor; similar with the ecu
guessing the spark degrades from the cps as the engine gets up to temp
anyone know to definitely prove this before I pull the distributor?
thanks
