Out of curiosity, where did you find a carbureted Saab 900 in the US? I didn't think any were sold in North America!
Also, I'm confused about this:

There isn't normally any interaction between APC and the fuel injection/lambda sond system. APC is a standalone system consisting of a control unit, two sensors and a solenoid. It doesn't really care what the O2 sensor is doing. The O2 sensor provides feedback directly to the K-Jet ECM AFAIK.
