bad motor mount? Posted by Brandon K [Email] (#2382) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Brandon K) on Sat, 23 Mar 2019 20:31:59 In Reply to: Re: What year c900 ? I got under the car today and had may 14 year old daughter move the shifter around after I got the shifter to magically let go of 1st. Everything looked normal other than the bottom of the motor/trans being horribly greasy. It shifted from 2nd through 5 just fine plus into reverse no problem. However when she went to shift into 1st, there was a lot of resistance and I saw what looked like the entire motor/trans shift forward and aft as she tried to move it in and out of 1st. Basically once it was placed in 1st, it would not come back out but would move the drivetrain back and forth with the force. I was surprised by the amount of movement and how easily the shifter moved it.
My assumption is that this can’t possibly be normal. Is this likely to be the right side mount only or are the others probably bad?
As a side note, this car is slated to have a 350hp plus motor and the best transmission Scanwest can build put in it in the next few months. If anyone has any experience with stock motor mounts vs. some alternative options, I am open to advice.
