The vibration is minor in P and N, but becomes major when D is selected at a stop with the brake on, and smooths out as the car accelerates. I suspect a cracked flex plate (flywheel). Any way to check that without pulling the whole power train and splitting it? It's a really clean car and deserves to be saved.
