There are currently no better alternatives for the late model 900s than E-codes. It is simply a matter of superior optics.
They will not be cheap, but I've never found anyone who said, "Well, that was a bad idea!". If you do a lot of night driving you will quickly appreciate how bad the DOT optics really are.
As Snowmobile mentioned they can sometimes be found used in Canada. The usual online sources occasionally offer things. You might try deep dive net searches of European sites, particularly non-English ones. It's helpful if you have part numbers, either Saab or Hella. (The only numbers on the lenses are L: 301-132235 and R: 301-132236. I'm guessing these are Hella #s as they don't fit the usual Saab format.) Make sure you are buying lights for L/H drive vehicles. Some sites, particularly English, may have both. If buying used , be especially considerate of condition, as reflectors may become cloudy and glass pitted with road use. Mounting and adjustment hardware are areas of special concern. Repair parts may be NLA.
Be sure you have all the necessary bits. There is some simple re-wiring required, as well as new bulbs.
Good luck with your quest.
