I would ask him to dig deeper. That hose has rubber couplers at either end and a pair of grommets for the PCV pipe and the return from the APC solenoid. It's a big difference depending on where the leak actually is. Don't go replacing expensive or impossible to find stuff or cheap rubber grommets.
