Gasket material....

Is anyone ever used a paper style gasket for the transmission to engine gasket instead of the metal one. I never have, but I ordered some gaskets from fcpeuro.com and that's what they sent me so I'm just curious as to how everybody thinks they'll work out. That is not what I expected but it is what it is. Any thoughts as to the downside of using those gaskets instead of metal. And yes I'm aware that's what came on the car so that's why I'm asking as to why somebody would make them out of paper.
