Have you considered Trionic 5?

I bought my 85 7 years ago with a rotted harness. The no brainer solution was to upgrade it to Trionic 5. If I was going through the hassle of essentially rewiring the car, why not upgrade it to more modern electronics in the process? Mike D did most of the work and we had the car swapped over and running in a single day. A second day was required to fine tune things and swap to a newer dash in order to obtain a speed signal (they have now found a work around for this). The car runs great and has been 100% reliable! I cannot recommend the upgrade to Trionic 5 enough.
There is a wealth of information on the web and lots of one off parts have been made to make this swap as easy as can be.
