I've implemented the late 9K clock spring solution Posted by DET17 [Email] (#1254) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DET17) on Thu, 16 Apr 2020 04:27:00 In Reply to: Re: 90-94 SRS steering clock spring solution?, DET17 [Profile/Gallery] , Thu, 9 Apr 2020 04:36:56 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Available on eBay for under $50 t0 the door; terminations for the horn and LINE side of the airbag are different and require soldering the C900 unique connectors onto the ends of the molded connections from the 9K. SAAB clearly gave up on their custom design and purchased a commercial solution. You can peel back the molded plastic "cage" that protects the conductors, and solder (tiny 15W Weller pencil tip) the individual wires to the flat conductors in the 9K system.
I will snap a couple pics and attempt to add to this thread for those who follow. I need a functional horn for safety reasons! Sure hope feeding this much more rigid clock spring into the C900 confines can be done the the knee bolster in situ. I've had those blasted bolsters out TOO MANY times, would prefer not to do it again.
