The problem I ran into when trying to hook up to the coil with the unit all assembled was that I couldn't grab enough coils to compress it enough. I ended up removing the long threaded rod and the two bolts(circled) which allowed me to hook the top first, then one at a time hook the bottoms as low as you can get them. Reinstall the two bolts and the threaded rod and crank away. They say you can use an impact gun on the threaded rod, but I used a socket and a long handle 1/2 drive ratchet to crank it. Grease the threads of the rod liberally. With this type of compressor you will have to remove the hub/spindle/drive from the car.
