Presuming your current gasket is in re-usable condition it should be straightforward. I've replaced the glass in my '93CE twice without any issues. The first was changing out the original glass in 2009 for pitting, the second about a year ago for a non-repairable rock crack.

I can't speak as to the relative ease of installation versus modern cars as the newest car I've ever owned is the '93 I currently drive. You might ask your mechanic or other local Saab owners for shop recommendations.

Please let us know your results. Keeping these beasts on the road grows increasingly challenging.
