So the car I was referencing was my 9000. It actually came with a little four or five inch rubber hose that connects to the top of the fuel pump itself and then connects to the plastic nipple that eventually goes out through the top. So in other words the pump sitting down inside of the gas tank and that rubber hose is not completely connected to that nipple and was shooting gas out the side and of course it's inside the tank so you can't see it. If I remember right I had good fuel pressure until I went and drove the car and then of course I would have low fuel pressure didn't realize that till I put the gauge inside the car and then it became apparent that I didn't have fuel pressure. The long cranking issue I believe is your one-way check valve which is the white one if I remember right it's probably bleeding down after you turn the fuel pump off. Usually takes five or six seconds for my buddies 1990 SPG to start I finally got the koul tool so I can replace that check valve properly now. I hope that all made sense. I don't exactly know for sure if you have the same type of fuel pump I put in my 9000 with that little rubber hose or not.
