Most of these parts are for my '89 project car so I figured anything I took would be a direct replacement, which is always nice when your in a junkyard.
To be honest, I didn't know anything about the steering column differences. I wasn't sure if I was going to take the steering wheel because when I pressed the horn buttons, I didn't feel any action but maybe it's just the way they are. The dashpad is for my '90 and I was going to test the wheel when I changed it out but it sounds like if it doesn't work on the '90 it doesn't mean it won't on the '89.
From looking at the car, pretty much the only damage was to the hood where it was punched in a little. The radiator, grill and lights were fine though. Maybe something internal or maybe the owner passed and the family just wanted it gone? Kind of a mystery and I thought there would be a high possibility that the owner was on this board.
