FWIW, I always pull the wheel with the column intact which is easy to do especially with an airbag wheel so the clockspring isn’t molested. They are pretty easy to remove but I’m not 100% sure what the difference is. Maybe the length. I’ve replaced three airbag c900 wheels with either an early three spoke Saab wheel or Momo wheels this way so the airbag wheels could go back on the car if needed.
