These gradually dim after a few miles of driving and go out. Pretty much full intensity to start with.
As they dim putting on the handbrake does make them brighter.
Rolling the windows up an down has no effect.
I know from the very old threads that the Ignition Lock relay is a suspect. The spade contacts and socket look fine. I have not opened it up yet to look at the relay contacts.
Ignition switch was taken apart internally and cleaned a few years ago when installing a replacement reverse lockout kit.
It almost feels like they dim and go out as the battery charges while driving and the alternator current drops. I guess I could try a load test on it to see if that changes the lamp brightness as they dim.
The SRS light goes out a few seconds after start and the ABS light maybe 10-15 seconds after start, if the car has been sitting for a while.
Car is a 1993 900T Conv 130K miles.
Anyone have any good ideas?
Sure is quiet on here and in the 9-3SS forum. Not seeing many Saabs on the road in SF or LA any more ...
