There may be more variations,
but the construction of the seats changed between 1986 and 1989,
with the former having a very British rubber Dunlop pan and cover over it,
and the later being much more like contemporary Japanese cars with
a formed foam bottom, steel structure embedded in the foam, and metal springs
instead of the rubber pan.
The mounting style changed, too.
I found a very nice '89 seat to use in my 86- and it was completely useless, as none
of the parts crossed over. Including the cover.
