Hello,
So yes the crank signal must be received by Lh to trigger the fuel pump. You will find a 3 pin connector near the oil dipstick tube that goes to the crank sensor behind the crank pully. It sends a signal to the ignition module which then sends it on to the Lh control module. A quick check is unplugging the 3 pin connector and with the key on spike 2 of the pins on the harness side together several times quickly and see if you hear an injector click. If so the hall effect sensor has failed. I can't remember which wires to quickly jump together but I have never harmed one by doing the wrong ones so take turns. Another option is using the TSI socket for a RPM signal. If I remember correctly a led test light will show a signal in the TSI socket. Good Luck, Bernie
