Good info...thanks. So, both you and Bernie say these rarely fail. I have one from my parts car, which I've swapped in and it's not made any difference. When I put my Mity-Vac on the vacuum port of both of them and pump it up to 14lbs, they each seem to hold the vacuum no problem. So...maybe they are ok.
As far as fuel pressure is concerned...I did just make repairs to the fuel tank (crack) and decided to swap in the fuel pump out of the parts car as it looked a whole lot newer. I think mine was probably the original. That has not made any difference either. I tried to replace the fuel filter when I was doing the tank but I just couldn't get enough leverage on the bolts to get them loose. Going to take that into my indy mechanic today.
I'm still suspicious that one of the fuel injectors is bad. I bought a rebuild kit for them and installed the new o-rings, caps, and filters. That seemed to help for a few days but then the problem re-appeared. I decided to just replace them...waiting for the new ones to arrive.
I swapped the AMM from my parts car...no change.
I swapped the ignition coil from my parts car...no change.
I have all new NGK plugs/wires, I still need to pull and inspect the plugs and check the timing.
All in all it's been an exercise in frustration.
Thanks for your feedback. It's good to know about Jordan Pagano (modern classic saab) as I've not been familiar with that resource.
