Hello,
As stated there the "sensor" in the upper radiator hose is just a switch that goes open when the temperature gets too high. Basically the opposite of the switch in the rad that turns on the fans.
Also as stated by others there is a pressure switch at the receiver dryer in the passenger fender well by the washer resevoir. Both of these switches are between the relay and the compressor so if either switch goes open no compressor.
There also is an anti frost switch for the ac evaporator. It is located under the dash on the passenger side. But you may have to remove the dash to get to it. If it senses the evaporator is freezing it will shut down the compressor. They also can go bad. I don't have a wiring diagram handy but I believe it is also between the relay and the compressor.
