Okay-
I did a few things, and yes the plastic cover is off the flywheel. And I watched the video several times. The only difference is that my starter doesn't just fall out once the 4 bolts are removed.
All 4 bolts are removed - 2 on either side of the starter motor on the flywheel side and 2 from the back bracket under the intake manifold.
With my phone camera I was able to take some pictures so I can see the gears in the starter are retracted and not hung up in the flywheel teeth.
Yet, the starter motor won't budge - it doesn't move at all! Side to side or back and forth. It's as if it is still bolted in.
I've also given the motor some good taps with a screwdriver and hammer from the front and side. Still doesn't move.
More PB Superblaster? Could it be corroded into the hole on sides or back mating surfaces?
HELP!!
Looking like my only next step would be to put it all back together again and take the replacement starter motor with the car to my mechanic.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks,
Todd inMA
