Hi all,
I recently replaced the ignition barrel in my 900, and after installing the gear lever block again noticed the car was stuck in reverse. When it was started it jolted backwards and stalled. It also did this with the clutch pressed down! After disconnected the shift rod into the gearbox I got the lever fitted again, reconnected the rod, and put it into reverse so it lined up with the gear it was in. However, now I can't get the stick out of reverse (yes, I have the key in the right position 😄). What could be causing this?
My neighbour is helping me fix the car and seemed to think the friction plate was seized on, can see the release bearing though. We bled the clutch and replaced the fluid.
However, I think the pull up collar on the stick isn't travelling as far as it should and it's stuck within the nylon tray under the shift housing. It's not done up 100% tight as getting any tool under it to tighten it is proving to be a PITA (did not remove the seats). I can get the car slightly out of reverse (key won't come out). Ut not all the way into neutral or any other gear.
What's people's thoughts on this?
We've tried rocking the car to try and free it. The car did move forward and back a way but no luck.
Thanks in advance 🙂
