You've got me beat. I only have 23 years with my 86spg.
Have you tried the other side of the pond? Steve Lewis with saab spares or saabbits seem to be good at the older stuff. Steve helped me out with gas tank grommets. He will answer the phone if you call.

Being a shade tree mechanic, a belt sander or plane would be tempting if you only need to remove a couple mm.
