Weird, it is not a hard line! I must have replaced that one on my car back when they were available. Seems funny that it's a flexible hose. Why? It's not between engine and car so there's no vibration.

Can you just make a hard line? Cut and flare the existing line to exclude the pinhole and the rubber, and then use flare unions to put in a section of flexible copper like for household natural gas. Old GM vehicles used flare unions for AC for years before they went to o-ring style.
