How many miles? There's a chance that the problem lies in the oil pump itself, the pressure relief valve or in the idiot light. All things being equal, w/o pulling the engine, this should be ruled out before assuming bearing wear-which is an assumption until they are in your hands or every other possibility is ruled out. Frequently the idiot light switches fail actuating above pressures which are really a danger (like around 20psi at hot idle). I'd start by replacing the switch, then look into a direct reading pressure gauge to monitor pressure from cold start through hot operation. All may be fine and you can just go back to the idiot light when your mind is at ease.
OTOH, I always examine rod bearings when engines are out for any reason. Most cars I buy are bad-trans bailouts with 100K-175K on them. Occaisionally they don't get the rod bearings replaced but most have enough copper showing to merit replacement. I've done several total rebuilds and if you do it yourself, shop for deals on parts and have a reliable and reasonable machine shop, it's not too bad. But it's often easier and cheaper to just find another engine once you're looking at turning the crank or boring the block.
