Another source of vacuum leaks and resulting idle problems.

Well, it seams like I'm always chasing down high idle problems caused by vacuum leaks. People need to remember not to condemn the AMM so quickly becasue there are SO MANY places where you can have a vacuum leak on a Saab turbo. Anyway, here are two more: the grommet for the brake booster like and the grommet for the boost-control related fitting on the plastic intake tube. On my car, both grommets were in o.k. shape (no dry rot, still soft), but to make a perfect seal, you have to use silicone sealant around the outside of the grommet and around the outside of the fitting that slides into the grommet.
Result - a 900rpm idle. Finally! Although I know this will only last as long as the next little leak crops up somewhere. The joys of driving an old Saab turbo.
