Several weeks ago my 900 non-turbo (253k) started acting funny in reverse...when I finished backing up and depressed the clutch, the front wheels would lock-up. This happens only occasionally. This past weekend however, it has decided not to allow me shift to 5th. It feels as though there is something in the way. No grinding when the attempt is made, just a dead stop. The first couple of times, double-clutching worked but now...nothing. Shifting thru all other gears, up and down, is as smooth as ever.
I have put the last 53K miles on the car and have had no problems with shifting until these started. The only work done to the drive train during this time was that I had the driver side half-shaft replaced about 10k miles ago. Over the past few months, I have begun to wonder if the clutch is getting a little worn (at least 83K on this clutch), although I haven't noticed any slippage yet, it seems that the clutch must be fully depressed to shift easily.
Any advice you could offer would be appreciated...
Thanks!
