Instability at high speed - caused by loose bolt at ball-joint?

The SAAB 900i (1990 model 5 doors, 8 valve B engine) I've owned for the past 1½ years has always featured a weird instability at highway speeds, in particular if windy and not a tail wind. I have had wheel alignment checked, as well as ball-joints, tierod-ends and the rear bushings checked, and everything was found to be fine, according to the different mechanics undertaking these checks for me.
A few days ago i coincidently found the bolt just next to the lower balljoint at the right front wheel without strong grip - the nut and bolt did not provide any hold, any tension (- what is the correct english for this crab? - the carving of the bolt was destroyed by the nut) right there, just next to the lower ball-joint otherwise diagnosed to be all fine.
By now I am having this fixed at the workshop which most recently attempted to diagnose the spooky control issue for me (- at the time, 3 months ago, they did the wheel-alignment test and ball-joint etc test, but failed to check the bolts for proper tension/hold) - and they do it (replace all 4 bolts in both sides behind the front-wheels) as a free service to make up for failing to do a proper test.
Here is my Q.: Instability at high speed, spooky to control feel, am I right to assume this could come from this bolt not providing strong hold ?
Anyone out there having similar SAAB experiences??
Thanks,
Mike
