Isn't this "Pilot Error"?

I must disagree with Monster's gentle words: your Saab didn't sacrifice itself, you killed it. This is fundamentally different than blowing a tire on a curve or having to leave the roadway to avoid an idiot on your side of the stripe: running >100 mph when the road turns to gravel means you either didn't know what was ahead or didn't care; either way, you were way outside of the envelope when you flew it into the side of the mountain. Textbook Pilot Error.
Granted, you had the good fortune to choose one of the few cars that would let you walk away from this. Lots of us like that feeling of security; that's one reason we love these cars. And it's ALWAYS better to be lucky than good. All of us toast your luck and to your health.
But remember: the Gods grant us only so many stupid mistakes before they get disgusted and stomp us into the dirt. Please be sure you choose the right places to let 'er rip. We tempt the Gods more than enough as it is with accidental, inadvertent and lusty thoughts without going out of our way to tempt Fate.
Good luck on the replacement.
