Sometimes these seals can be a real bear to remove. There have been times where I have had to take them out in pieces to remove them. You may have to go this route. Here are a couple of suggestions. One idea would be to use a very thin awl type tool such as an o-ring pick. Insert the pick at various points around the seal between the outer area and the transmission case. This will distort the seal somewhat and loosen it from the case. This will most likely cause some minor nicks in the case. If so then coat the outer surface of the seal with Permatex Aviation cement. This is a non hardening sealer. The other idea is to use a heat gun and heat the tranny case around the area of the seal. The aluminum will expand and you should be able to pop the seal out easily.
