Copper Head Gasket, Driveshaft

My SPG will need a little attention soon, and I want to prevent myself from doing a lot of extra work.
My head gasket has failed to the point that I have bubbles in the expansion tank with a hot engine. I'd rather use a nice copper sheet rather than a standard gasket, as I know this gasket has only been in for 40K, and my tweaked engine could use a little extra protection. Is there a general good impression of using copper? It seems like a very good solution to me.
Also, I've got a ripped CV boot. I once bought a quality german 'LORBO' or 'LOBRO' or something joint for only about $40. This seems, in retrospect, to have been a good deal. At any rate, I'm thinking that just swapping the whole driveshaft, with a couple good Ball joints, would really be the way to go, in order to minimize my screwing around. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good vendor of saab driveshafts, so that I could guarantee getting good parts, and not some really bad aftermarket joints. To me, quality is better than a lifetime warranty if I have to dig in there every year to replace junk.
Thanks for any thoughts.
