>> Base boost appears to be about 8 psi. Aero guy cites .42-.48 BAR for the Aero base boost (so between 6.1 and 6.9 psi). According to that, base boost looks to be too high (or the gauge is wrong). Should I try to change it?

Probably not. The side effect of changing the length of the wastegate dashpot rod, which is how you adjust base boost, is achieving more or less accelerated boost. IOW, lengthing the rod will increase base boost and boost will come on quicker with less smoothness, sort of a "turbo lag" feeling as in older 2L cars. If your boost comes in smoothly, don't worry about the adjustment. If it was low, I'd say to get it up to specs, but the reading you're getting may be an inaccuracy in the gauge. Seeing the difference between 7 and 8 psi on a gauge when you're trying to drive is difficult.

>> Other than the base boost, does any of this information sound off?

No. The max boost levels are on par with my '95 Aero's readings, using a VDO gauge in the console.

>> The problems I'm dealing with are (as mentioned in previous posts) low-rev bucking or jerkiness....

Missing during FTO sounds like a bad DI cassette, but you stated the one on your car was new.

>> ...revs dropping momentarily when coming to a stop....

Could be that your new bypass valve may be bad, or somehow not in spec for your car. Did it do this before adding the new valve? Try swapping back to the old one, if you still have it, and see if you see any change.

>> ...and the occasional fuel cut when driving hard (which would be explained by the high base boost right?).

No. Trionic regulates max boost, and increasing base boost won't make any long-term changes. It may at first until adaptation gets things back where Trionic wants it. To my knowledge, there is no effective method of changing max boost without an ECU EPROM change.

>> I think that the vacuum numbers sound pretty good, so that rules out any possible vacuum leaks.

Check around anyway. How is idle smoothness? A vacuum leak will usually cause choppy idle.
