This happened to me on an old 89 probe GT when I was in school. I was driving the car back from a late night trip to Maine. I was like half a mile from my house. I heard a pop then a dieseling sound. The next day I took it to midas because I thought my exhaust was gone. They pointed out the sparkplug and wire dangling off the engine. They told me I shouldnt be driving the car around. The head was aluminum as well. I didnt want to replace it since at the car was my first turbo and all I did was beat on it. I tried a new plug and as soon as the engine warmed up it would pop out again. The plugs had not been changed anywhere near the time of the incident so I assume the engine had enough of the turbo. I called it time for a new car. The plug was good but the threads on the head were gone.
