As others have posted I extremely like the subaru outback we have 97 5 spd, witha few small tweeks it really improved the acceleration, 0-40 it is predictable and fast in comparison to my 91 9kt 5spd. But above 40 being n/a it would have a hardtime keeping up. What Subaru should have done is to put a decent turbo on the legacy then you would have a great combination of Accerlation, size and handling. Also my experience has been that it it very reliable low maintaince. In + 50k miles in combined city/highway driving. My primary complaint with the outback is the poor seat comfort.
