... which we expect, and I suspect you're exactly right in your calculations. When I talk about a stiff ride, though, I'm talking about just driving down a straight road, not cornering stiffness. Some of what I feel may well be due to poly bushings, but some of it is almost certainly due to the bigger bars - the majority of it, I feel sure.

I guess I've opened up a can of worms here, or at least an interesting discussion. The only thing I ever really wanted to do was warn people that they won't get increased roll resistance for free, as I was always led to believe. Bigger bars will stiffen the ride, all the time; they'll make you feel every ripple in the road; you'll be amazed at how rippley a brand new repaving job can be. It's not necessarilly a bad thing, but it's something that I think should be considered when you're considering a suspension upgrade. Everyone knows that shorter, stiffer springs will stiffen the ride a lot. Most everyone knows that performance shock absorbers will stiffen the ride quite a bit due to the increased resistance to both compression and extension. But there's this false perception that sway bars only stiffen the ride during active cornering, and that just doesn't appear to be true. I thought it was time to let that cat out of the bag.
