I happen to have a mechanic that when I first visited he went from a Ford 4x4 to a MB sedan to a VW shitbox and told each one what the rpoblem was and that he could fix...not only he extremely up to date but his prices and evaluations are the most fair!

He has saved my tail mor ethan once and even talked me into leaving my car until he found the problem and never charged me until he found out what it was then the clock started. He is a throwback but his honesty also keeps
his clients; even some with BRAND NEW bmw's and honda's....
he does get busy but he never lies about what is going on - I have seen him expalin things to ladies who had no clue and he has stayed late
many a times to get cars out the door to his customers!!
he has worked on my '89 900 and my '98 9000 and even knew what a problem was with just listening and driving the 9000 while the nearest dealer
wanted to have me drop it off-- i got the part from the dealer and he installed...problem solved total cost was far less than I had calculated it would be!!!

But I will never tell!!
