I want to make something that could be mounted on the dash and reflect off the windshield for a HUD effect.

There are plenty of reasonably cheap pressure transducers available that offer a voltage output proportional to psi.

In therory, the circut design would be similar to the Dawes A/F meter, just with more LEDs.

Perhaps the LED boost meter could be a good test project to assess fesability of making a reliable A/F meter (or vice-versa I suppose).
