Another Californian's tire pick!

When I got my 97 Aero, I took Bob Davies' advice (another BB contributor) and got Firestone SZ50EP Firehawks. I'd driven Pirelli 9000s on my previous 9k. The Firestones aren't the sexiest tires on the road, but they are really terrific (who cares what they look like): great cornering ability, very sticky in rain and quiet with just the right amount of give for the 9k's tight suspension. However, they are not for snow. Go to the tire preference rating at tirerack.com and you'll see how much people like them (they're #1). And when you find out how much they cost, you'll realize that these aren't any ordinary Firestones! (They're made in Japan by Bridgestone.)
Hope this helps.
John
