HS,
I have '93 9000CSET. I've used 87 since I bought my car almost two years ago, and only get 89 or 91 for longer road trips. Car runs fine and the only difference I can truly detect is very subtle pre-knocking at idle with 87. But that varies depending on gas quality between vendors. I stay with Chevron, Esso (Canadian Exxon) and when in the U.S. 76 and Texaco. I drive gentle and don't boost into red so I doubt there'd be significant benefits with 91 or higher for me.
The 9000s are designed to run with 87 or better.
Ken
