sb, I'm not going to argue your point because there is sense in it. All I can say is that this whole thing started when my local Saab dealer - a place I have patronized for 15 years - told me that they wouldn't do a state inspection on my car because the rear tires did not have enough tread to pass and that THEY WANTED $450 TO REPLACE TWO F**KING TIRES!

I would have been happy to deal with them, but not at that price. It works both ways you know. A dealer has a responsibility to not gouge. What kind of an idiot would I be if I paid them more for two tires than I paid for four better tires elsewhere? Granted, I got screwed anyway...
