If what you need is a new shift coupler, then it's neither costly nor difficult to replace. I think both styles are still being sold, too. Last year, anyway, the older style was still available from one of the site sponsors - I forget which one, maybe Sobstory? The new 'style' is the one that comes as standard on all late-model 9000's and is probably worth the extra money. I think the whole coupler is under $100, and shouldn't take a DIY'er more than a morning to install. Make sure you have a spare tapered pin and nut on hand, too - if you're not carefull, you'll probably end up destroying the original when you try to take it out!
