As other will chime in, Are you sure it is the timing chain and not some other item on that side of the engine? I did replace the TC/BC on my 91 because I was doing the headgasket.
It will probably take a whole weekend to do it. Write ups that I used were on Quasi's site, Townsend's 900 description (similar to 9000) and the Haynes manual.
You must take your time because doing it wrong may cause more damage then you started with.
Other items that I would replace if you plan on doing the chains because you don't want to open up that side of the engine for awhile are;
serp belt, tensioner and pulleys.
waterpump
voltage regulator
main seal and oil pump oring
coolant hoses
Hope this helps
Brian
