I wish you luck with the V6. I cannot speak to the 3.0 engine, but do have a lot of experience with the 2.5 V6 in two 900SE's. One I bought in damaged condition after someone else let the t-belt go. Bought it cheap, put about $1500. into rebuilding the heads and labor, so it was a good buy. It is now my daughter's car and runs well. I've driven the other one for over two years and 65000 miles. Despite religously changing the t-belt on schedule, I had a cam gear loosen up. This only cost me about $1000. because I was in stop-and-go traffic and shut it off right away, bending only a couple of valves. I've also seen the crank key fail on another 2.5 V6, causing total valve crash.
As nice as the V6 runs, and it does run nice, I just didn't trust it for the high mileage driving I do. I bought a 94 9000cse because I wanted the tried and true 2.3 turbo engine. Hopefully you'll get many miles of care-free driving from the V6. Just be aware that if it's like it's 2.5 cousin, there's more to it than just good maintenance!
